The WTA informed its players that unvaccinated players WOULD be able to play but would have to quarantine for two weeks. That seemed so inconsistent with how Victoria has handled the pandemic.

I’m sure the tournament would like to find a way to get all of the unvaccinated top players there, but bending on vaccinations is a terrible idea. I think even Djokovic will get a shot if they are tough on the rules. IMHO he wants that 21st major title too badly not to play, and he has done better at the Aus Open than at any other major. Even if he doesn’t play, there are plenty of others who will attract the audience needed.
