It was a record-breaking performance from the Golden Eagle defense. They broke a 20-year old record by giving up only seven total yards of offense to Buffalo State, setting the new record for fewest total yards allowed in a single game. Pushing the Bengals backwards with -80 rushing yards, it also set a new program record for fewest rushing yards allowed in a single game.
 
Brockport had four defensive touchdowns in the game, including three pick-sixes and a fumble recovered for a touchdown. The offense matched the defense with four scores in a balanced attack with two on the ground and two through the air.
