WTF is that? We are losing our standing internationally as a nation. And much of that is because our higher education institutions no longer prioritize the original mission, which was to educate people .

In almost every state, the highest paid state employee is either a football or basketball coach, not the Governor, not a scientist, not the leader of a research lab.

How did the University of Toronto's curling team do this year? Nobody cares. THat has nothing to do with education. How was Oxford's cricket team? Or the University of Melbourne's soccer club? WTF? Nobody would ever ask such a question.

We Americans have f-ed up many of our institutions, and college sports is exhibit A. Let the professional teams pay for their own farm systems.
