3. Most fuel injected vehicles made after 2000 have this feature

This feature is mean to clear engine cylinders if they become flooded with fuel. This is a MUST do if you are changing oil on turbocharged engines, and also a good thing to do if you're starting an engine in extreme cold weather. Just make sure you don't touch or press the brake pedal; otherwise, the engine might start (and you don't want to do that with the accelerator floored).

On pre-2000 cars, you can replicate clear flood by pulling the fuel pump fuse from the fuse block, then crank the engine.
