Getting a job in the industry? [View all]

I thought I would post this here since maybe we have some people who work in the industry or at least could point in the direction of a place I could ask about this. I've planned on law, but the legal industry is terrible and I'm starting to think it isn't for me anyway. The only other thing I've really wanted to do is create video games. I've got an appointment with my university's computer engineering department to talk about changing majors, but I was just curious if anyone here had any advice on breaking into the industry? Is a CE degree even the correct degree for it?
