Though you may want to give Fire Watch and The Stanly Parable a try. Dear Ether is kind of interesting too, though it's less of a game and more of a narrative/exploration style experience. From Dust is another interesting game about controlling the forces of nature. Perhaps look into those and see if they scratch your adventure itch.
