Adrian Butchart, the award-winning screenwriter, has held talks with Jamie Vardy’s agent over the prospect of a film about the Leicester City striker’s remarkable rise.

Vardy made history on Saturday by scoring in his 11th consecutive Premier League game, four years after he was playing in non-league for Fleetwood Town.

The 28-year-old’s fairytale journey has also seen him elevated to Roy Hodgson’s England senior team and Butchart believes there is potential to turn Vardy’s story into a movie.
