a week or more, we always get an apartment through airbnb or vrbo. We find that it is the same or cheaper than a hotel, we have much more room, and there is something nice about relaxing in your jammies and having your coffee and croissant. There are always groceries and bakeries nearby, so stocking up is so easy.
The Paris Metro is excellent, so you can get around from whatever neighborhood you stay in. No need to be next to the Louvre.
