that it's not about Allah. It's about Muhammad. They are not equated in Islam. It is considered a sin to equate Muhammad (or anyone or anything) with Allah, so it is my understanding that Muslims don't do that.

I'm not agreeing with what they did! Never. I'm just simply addressing the context.
