I was at a gathering of fellow astrologers on Wednesday night, and we were studying the natal chart of Kavanaugh's main accuser, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, in light of the asteroid goddesses, and the Goddess in general. Needless to say, there was a huge amount of respect and adulation for Dr. Ford in the audience. I asked the visiting astrologer from Santa Fe if he thought that Kavanaugh would get confirmed, and he said that he didn't think so. He also said that he believed that Dr. Ford would go on to be a much more important figure in US history, and that Kavanaugh would go on to relative insignificance, and become nothing more than a footnote in history. The host and leader of our NCGR (National Council for Geocosmic Research, the country's largest educational and training organization for astrologers) reminded the presenter, and the audience not to get too political. In our NCGR chapter, almost all of the members are quite liberal and progressive politically - except for one person, and maybe one or two more, who are Trump supporters.

The whole astrological community is, by and large, very liberal and progressive. The "patron planet" of astrology, if you will, is Uranus, whose domicile or rulership sign is Aquarius (think of the 'Age of Aquarius' song from the hippie love rock musical 'Hair', and you will get the basic idea - openness and trust abounding, and generally liberal and progressive). Brett Kavanaugh also has Uranus prominent in his chart, as I said in my first posting, as well as its domicile sign, Aquarius - home to his Sun, Mercury and Venus. So, why isn't he liberal or progressive? Aquarius is the sign of principles and convictions, and although these principles and convictions are usually of a free and liberal bent, sometimes they can go the other way, and swing towards conservatism - but the main thing is that principles and convictions take precedence. Reagan, after all, was an Aquarius.

Anyway, when it came to predicting the outcome of the 2016 presidential election, given the astrological community's huge liberal / progressive bias as a whole, I found it very interesting that all the articles in the Mountain Astrologer, the nation's leading astrology magazine, were giving predictions of the upcoming 2016 presidential election using very arcane and obscure predictive techniques, from medieval or even more offbeat forms of astrology - and they all predicted a Hillary win, of course. This got me curious to know what regular, garden variety modern astrology and its standard predictive techniques had to say about the 2016 election. And so, I ordered from my personal astrologer one of her triwheel predictive charts, the US Sibley chart cast for the date of the 2016 election, and it took me all of one minute looking at the chart to say, "OMG - looks like a totalitarian takeover and a big deception of the electorate" - and that, of course, predicted a Trump win that November. I have put up a previous posting about that for this group, which you can refer to.

The point is that most astrologers - and we here at DU would add truth itself to that equation - have a liberal bias. Being acutely aware of this bias, of course, the Mountain Astrologer only wanted to publish articles before the 2016 election that predicted a Hillary win. Astrologers are, after all, only human beings, with their all too human biases. And the members of the US Senate, especially the conservative Republican majority, are also human beings with their own human biases - even those which may land them ultimately on the wrong side of history. We shall see what happens with Brett Kavanaugh's nomination!
