Mars (Ares)
The "fiery" planet is named after the Greek god Ares and Roman god Mars. He was the god of war, spring and youth. Mars was the guardian of young men and was himself highly impetuous. Mars represents energy, aggression, violence, desire and the male sexual organs. He is sometimes the symbol of life and death. In mythology, Ares was often beaten and humiliated by his enemies. He was like an ill tempered child that was unable to receive the amount of credit that he desired.
