2. I visited where the CP-2 pile is buried

It's now a state forest or park, but there are marker stones and a couple of informative displays. It's in the Atlas Obscura.

I saved the locations in my GPS.

The pile is buried at 41º42.130N, 87º54.729W.

There's a big "Do not dig" slab at 41º42.442N, 87º54.634W.
