i had a kid w a non-24 clock. it was a nightmare. he ended up dropping out jr yr, we let him cuz he was about to break. took him a lonnnggg time to recover.
the gifted school my youngest went to (where most had a long commute) took a vote on this, and they didnt move it. 1# reason was that kids looked after sibs or had jobs. outrageous.

the schools that have done it have seen discipline problems drop, attendance go up, test scores go up.
1 way to fix it is to loop the 1st & 2nd periods. some kids r larks. they can get there at the normal time. kids who cant can take those classes at end of day. yes, it costs money. it’s worth it.
