14. Yeah everyone told me not to smoke while on the patch

but before I had started trying to quit I was smoking 3 packs a day. Patch plus cigs still couldn't equal that amount so I never felt sick like everyone said I would. All it meant was the patch helped me go longer and longer between cigs.

My wife, on the other hand, found out she was pregnant with our (now 25 year old) daughter and just never picked up another cigarette. She didn't seem to think I was funny when I told her she had it easy since she could just get pregnant to quit.

And I understand completely - the ritual and fiddling around with the lighter and packing the cigs and having the emptiness (physical emptiness, not spiritual lol) inside filled with smoke (instead of steam) are all things I miss. My son has been on and off the eCig and he just keeps going back to regular smokes. I once tried a couple puffs on his ecig and it was interesting but I didn't get the same feel I used to get from regular cigs.

The only real advantage I ever saw to ecig (besides the lack of smoke going into your lungs) was that you used to be able to puff on it in places that wouldn't normally allow regular smokes. But now everyone is clamping down on that too so it's it's not as much of an advantage. One of my co-workers sneaks into my office so he can use his vape. They are not allowed in the building but I don't mind and it is a long walk from where we are to the only smoking area on the property (purposely put way out there to make it a PITA to go have a smoke). I don't know if I'm being a good guy or an enabler but I still have a little streak of stickin it to the man in me so I let him break the rule. And he always has new weird flavors I smell pretty cool.

Anyway, I wish you best of luck and no matter what, enjoy life!
