24. No worries, I was going for a laugh about not choosing to worship my septic system.

It was terrifying in the moment, and probably for a few hours, even days afterward, but the nice thing about fear is getting past it.

My favorite quote from Eleanor Roosevelt:

“You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, 'I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.' You must do the thing you think you cannot do.”

We have it on a refrigerator magnet in our house. I am still willing to fly, although I try to minimize doing so. It's a rather dirty enterprise. In those days it was my job to do it; I had a traveling job.
