If there is some cosmic over spirit of the universe I seriously doubt it cares one way or the other whether I worship it or not. Most of the world religions provide an acceptable way of living with our fellow travelers however the zealots and fundamentalist radicals have killed off an awful lot of folks for not believing their brand of cosmic overlord. I'm ok with just trying to do the next right thing.

It's hard to prove a negative, but the likelihood of a diety seems very low, like infinitesimally low.
