I had an out of body experience when I was 23 years old. The seeming reality of the experience has been one of the things that has made me wonder over the years about the existence of the soul. I describe myself as an agnostic.

But the circumstances under which I had the experience make it more likely to be attributed to a hallucination, or something like what is described in the article. I was suffering from the symptoms of untreated bipolar disorder at the time and had been for three years.
