I am a cancer survivor and have experienced all of those things. Even now, many people invoke God to explain my recovery. I usually reply "I'd like to think that science and the skill of my surgeons, doctors and nurses saved me." The experience was life changing in that I now have a permanent disability due to loss of muscle in my neck. God had nothing to do with it.
