17. That got my attention, because of course the earth is expanding constantly.

It expands due to the steady rain of cosmic debris, a few millimeters per century, but it adds up over time.

The Wackypedia article is informative, listing the wackos that went for the full blown expanding theory, perhaps including Paul Dirac.
