and will not get to see him. Dad can't pick up the phone. Our private healthcare angels, some of whom are friends of the family, got pulled from the nursing home laas week. We are all devastated. Dad will be all alone save for meals and getting changed. We have a call in with the social worker to see if she can organize calls with us. But we don't want to be a burden and take up staff time and/or break the chain of hygene in the nursing home. Dad is a sweatheart and always backed us up with support for our dreams and needs. He mothered us with ample compassion and was fun as dads go. He gave us all a love of history and politics. He doesn't deserve this crisis. He would be the first to say nobody does and would have tried to mitigate this crisis for all. When he was 60 he split the wood with a wedge and an axe from his half of a huge maple that he and the neighbour had paid someone to cut down. He built rock gardens. He was a swimmer. He was a family person. I feel so guilty we can't be there for him for god knows how long.He mostly voted Liberal and worked for the Party for a while. He was in charge of having teas with rich old Liberal women to raise money for the party in the early 70s. He was perfect for that role. He bought into the conservative lies about debt in the late 80s and early 90s but got over it soon. He's still the same guy though his memory is not good. That is my only hope for now that he will not understand what is going on. Vibes to him. Vibes to them all. Vibes to everyone.
