When you consider Trump and his cabinet nominees, you can't help but conclude that we're not just dealing with ideological differences (over the size and role of government). We're dealing with bad people.

Anyway, as others have said, the Republican electorate will by and large think Conaway is making a great point. With the added bonus of stirring up anti-Mexican sentiment.
