(135,425 posts)Hell, they usually have ONE big news story that actually happened today; then maybe two or three "lesser" stories that we talked about here three days previously, and then some heartwarming story that is either about a cute sick kid, a cute sick puppy, a brave young woman (usually white, often blonde, always cute), or some cute old people who have either been abused, or have overcome hardships of some sort. Every now and again the little heartwarmer will be about a "Support the Troops" situation--cute, brave young family dealing with a severely disabled veteran, or a cute homeless veteran (with or without a prosthetic limb) who has overcome adversity thanks to the Kindness of Strangers (as opposed to federal law that would provide for him/her in event of disability).
In any event, the common denominator in these AWWW-heartstrings-tugging things is "cute." Oh, and they might give you a little sports and weather. But it's AWFUL--it's not "news." It's a condensation of a little ersatz news. You have to go to the web for news these days. Hell, I "watch" the news only because I know that Wheel and Jeopardy are coming on right after it! LOL! I have never learned anything "new" on the news--it's always something I've seen earlier on the net.
