7. I don't know if its happening more often or being reported more often

but either way, I have been hearing about this issue much more often in recent years. Its seems to always be in the news somewhere. I'm glad that at least some people are having a problem with it and think its wrong.

There was an episode of ABC's "What would you do" where they dealt with this issue and found that if the boy looks visibly distressed, women, usually mothers of sons, who witness it will step in and do something. Men not so much. Both men and women will step in if its happening to a girl though.
