Also I am outing myself because I don''t want any of you to get the blowback for one of my posts.

This afternoon while browsing at DI, I saw a thread started by Attera (DU's darkangel218) titled:

This is what she said about HoF members:

"They claim they do nothing wrong, yet all they do is resort to unwarranted personal attacks and lies to get our posts hidden.
They have issues and we are not psychologists to deal with them"

Now, I am a HoF member. I posted once on DI back in May, I might have been on a few juries in the first couple weeks but I rarely log in and haven't posted since (probably shouldn't give it clicks either). So Attera's statement pissed me off because I knew it to be a lie, plus I knew it was going to provide an opportunity for all the HOF-haters to start their attacks - in other words a shit stirring thread about HOF.

As I read through the thread, these were some of the choice comments made about HOF members:

They are misandrist bullies. Trolls. They use web sites, such as DI and DI, to act out and intimidate, because they know they can get away with it. They feel safe. In the real world though, most have been abused or raped. Many have only known an abusive life. They think abuse is normal. A few are just misandrist bullies that think they are having some harmless fun.

One wrong word or phrase from someone, and the swarm is all over them, alerting on any and every post their current target makes. Baiting them to post something that can be twisted into alterable. If that doesn't work, they have been know to swarm the Admin with lies, innuendos, purposely misinterpreted posts, in an effort to get their target banned. All to often that has worked.

How mentally healthy is that?

The post by ol geezer was alerted on and this is what the jurors had to say:

This is NOT DU. The truth sometimes hurts and people have a right to hear it. HoFer's attack with a vengeance but get butt hurt when they get called out? Too bad, stay at DU if you don't like it.

I kind of feel bad for them, I recognize the abused strive to abuse. But HoFrs are not really feminists anyway, it's just the bat they use to beat their victims as well as a nice shield.

They accuse people of alert stalking and shit when there dumb posts get hidden and play the victim in almost every situation, even when they are the aggressors. It isn't about feminism as much as it is about controlling others.

I posted an offer to Attera to make a deal, if she refrained from posting here at DU, I would refrain from posting there. Kind of a trade - a HoF member for a troll. And yes, I did call her a troll. Anyone who knows her history over here knows it. Hi Qukid (DUer Pintobean) I was fully expecting to get a hide and that's fine (although I really really wanted her to agree to the deal). I also got Flagged for Review - which again I'm OK with. I did find it interesting that none of the foul comments I noted above were hidden - but it is Discussionist after all. HOFers not welcome - just in case you weren't sure about that.

When I started this post, my intention was to show what was posted on DI and express my unhappiness with DU/DI admins in allowing DI to be used to attack members in good standing here. But really what is the use? We have been down this and similar paths many times and it goes nowhere.

What I do see as a take-away is this though. From the first days of DI, current and former DUers used it to attack this group. Now I have read Conservative Cave for years and they were never much interested in HOF. I haven't read FR since the Bush years but I doubt they have much interest in this group. What happened at DI is DUers leading the charge against this group. They have now encouraged republicans and libertarians and conservatives to join in their 2 minutes of hate. It seems the goal of Discussionist, to encourage people from diverse political backgrounds to find common ground has come to fruition - in hatred for HOF members. Bravo.
