That's interesting about the reaction, it's so sad people feel so awkward, we don't want to cross the boundary of 'none of our business' vs 'do we need to do something'

I'm glad the woman gave you the card.

My daughter during her first pregnancy with her husband, said that certain midwives tried to exclude him. He is a former soldier, has a bit of PTSD, and he did hover over my daughter and that first baby--but he's a great Dad and awesome husband. I think the midwives who were doing this made some assumptions about both my daughter and SIL based on his protectiveness, and her gender. (My daughter is also a former soldier)
