Sounds very painful.

I had an accident and fell on my face once, and had the same reaction from people that you did. I found it quite bizarre and it made me very uncomfortable. Looking back, I think I should have felt good that people cared enough to get in my face about seeking help for abuse. If I had been abused that might have been a lifeline.
