To clarify, 99% of the time using "upload" or "www" makes no difference whatsoever. We use multiple servers all running in sync, so the difference is that when you visit "upload" you're only connecting to a single server, whereas if you connect to "www" you will be directed to any of the servers (including upload).

If one of the servers has a problem, and you connect to www, there's a chance that you might be directed to the problem server, which would give you an error. In that situation, a workaround is to try switching to upload. If upload is NOT the server with the problem, you should then get a consistent connection. Of course, if upload IS the problem (which it was today) then visiting upload won't help.

FWIW it looks like the current upload problem may be resolved...
