Another step towards sanity. [View all]

With the victory for gun control advocates and gun violence victims by today's SCOTUS decision, our country has moved yet again towards common sense regulation of the "right" to own a lethal weapon:

"The U.S. Supreme Court backed the broad application of a federal law barring firearm possession by people convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence, ruling it could be used against two men convicted under a Maine law."

The gun nuts will argue that this is an "infringement," and they will be right (in both senses of the word). Not everyone should own a gun, and violent people absolutely should be barred from owing one. This is why background checks should include records of any type of anti-social behavior from any available and credible source.

It is past time that gun victims receive "due process" before some gun nut decides to solve their perceived problems with a gun.
