Which outdoor sports stores don't sell guns? [View all]

I walked into a store today feeling very outdoorsy minded and walked into a display of military-style weapons. I'm not a gun-phobe, and I thought I was pretty well informed about the state of gun philosophy in our culture, but I was amazed at my visceral reaction to a weapon on a rack in a retail store right in front of me designed for no other purpose than to appeal to the sick fantasies of people who want to kill other people, presumably as many people as possible in a short a time as possible. (Oh yeah, and maybe wild hogs.)

Anyway, I'm not going back.

I did some searching online, but didn't get far. I get the feeling that stores don't want to become a lightning rod by posting a no-guns-ever policy. So far, I'm fairly sure that REI and Campmor don't. I think LL Bean sells guns only in their home state of Maine. I could be wrong about that.

Anyone have stores to add to the list, especially in the NY/NJ/CT area?

Much thanks

Depends on if it's used for hunting or the gun fancier is more like this guy -- Hoyt Jul 2016 #16

No, it means anything that makes the owner feel powerful and all militia like. Hoyt Jul 2016 #6
To me it means gunz marketed to militia types, racists, white wingers, etc., who don't hunt game. Hoyt Jul 2016 #21

Some have discussed the practice of toting while cycling here. Seems quite odd/paranoid to me. Hoyt Jul 2016 #15
