Hello y'all [View all]

I have ADHD.

I take Adderall to function.
Both my sisters have ADHD and ADD and have been on stimulants too, to mitigate their symptoms.

ADHD runs in my family.
People who say ADHD isn't real don't understand the struggles it causes. The emotional outbursts the hyperfocus, the easy frustration, losing things ,start doing something than doing other things before finishing the first thing. Being unable to follow a movie or a conversation or just to read a book. it's rough. The constant restlessness and anxiety.

I was diagnosed ADHD in the early 70's
I took Ritalin back than.

Adderall has a perception among some doctors that it is a bad drug. I know for some people it's dangerous and bad.

The other meds I take help with my other mental illness.

But Adderall stops the rapid fire intense emotions that come out of nowhere. It makes me calm, I can watch a movie read and do art. I feel genuine relief when I take it. I sure as hell wouldn't be handling quarentine as well as I am.

I have been on the same dose for 15 years. I don't need to take more than what my dose is. I do not crave it. I don't get side effects.

I just feel normal when I take it.

I have had ADHD all my life. It never went away when I got older. I went many years without it being treated and I was miserable and blamed myself for it. I hated that I couldn't do what others did with ease.

I get annoyed when
people kneejerk blame trump's narcisstistic behavior and hyperness on Adderall . Or when he's slow and doddering on tranquilizers like thorazine or benzodiazapines.

These drugs help people who need them.

Blaming Adderall and other psych drugs on trump's behavior creates a illusion that mentally ill and ADHD people are addicts.

Adderall effects addicts looking to get high by making them hyper.
Trump is an addict. He has no medical reason to take it obviously because it makes him hyper.

It makes me feel calm.

When someone blames Adderall on someone's manic episodes,or thier wired hyperness it creates a bigoted impression about people who take stimulants for medical reasons, like ADHD, ADD and narcolepsy.

It reinforces the notion that ADHD is a bullshit diagnosis.
And that pisses me off.
