Wouldn't that have meant that the Warriors would have been committing ~1/4 of their payroll to a player who probably won't play the next season... on top of the 1/5 or whatever of their payroll already committed to another player who probably won't play the next season... With no guarantee that either would ever play well again, but in Durant's case would have been a new 4-5 year commitment of ~1/4 of the payroll...?

Very expensive, unknown health, whiney baby man was (still is, in hindsight) very good at basketball, but was also definitely a big gamble. And the other whiney baby man should keep his mouth shut and let people assume he's a jerk instead of opening it to remove any doubt.
