I harbor the continuing concern that all-time players don't make the best coaches, because:
a) The game cam easier to them, especially mentally, and they may get frustrated teaching things they didn't need to be taught.
b) Their ego & sense of the game served them so well that a different approach makes no sense.
The veteran players who went on to be great coaches generally were role players.
Jackson, Riley, Nelson, Carlisle, Sloan, et al.
Lenny Wilkins was a really good player & a good coach, but a great player/great coach? I don't know about that.
I actually could see Paul starting one of those b-ball academies. I think he'd be good with young, young players.
