The study found that people in Jamaica who had been smoking an ounce a day for 40 years had no damage other than a few cases of emphysema. OK, emphysema is a definite sign that you are smoking too much. Even banana peels will give you emphysema if you smoke an ounce a day for 40 years. Nixon, of course, suppressed the findings as much as he could, but it came out in paperback and I still have a copy.
