(799 posts)But some on the left are apparently just as willing to do so. I get being disappointed if your preferred candidate doesn't get the nomination. But how is another term of trump going to help the progressive policies you claim to support?
They seem to think, "this will show Democratic voters that they have to vote for our candidate", so that next time they'll get a more progressive nominee.
In the mean time, Republicans will continue to gain a stranglehold on the judicial branch. Further restrictions of voting rights will be upheld. Rollbacks of environmental laws, consumer protection laws, civil rights laws will follow. We'll just vote them out, you say? Sorry the election was cancelled...can't have "human scum" messing up all these great changes can we? That's illegal, you say? Trump's court says it's fine.
Am I exaggerating? Maybe a little, but it's true that all evil needs to succeed is for you to do nothing to stop it.
