(8,548 posts)51. I like Whitmer, but I think she would be a poor choice for a lot of reasons.
(1) I'm not sure that she could even guarantee Michigan, much less push some other swing states across the finish line.
(2) As this coronavirus situation gets worse, I think there will be a backlash in general against all elected leaders.
(3) Whitmer having to balance campaigning for vice president while running a state during what will still be an ongoing pandemic will be a bad look and certainly played up by Republicans.
I am still on the record for hoping Kamala is the choice, but I am still open to other suggestions if they make sense to me.
