I was/am able to use DU3 in a different tab, same browser window.

Still frozen in that tab, so will try as you suggest. Thanks.

Update: I closed the tab to see if that would do it. Seems fine now, but I’ll be curious to see what happens when it goes to night mode automagically. BTW, I tend to have several tabs open on my browser at once and they all worked fine during this adventure.
