using black text on a yellow background for some small buttons in Night Mode, and the highlighted reply line in a thread.

It isn't too bad there, when it's separate like that. But I think with words in a sentence, or a sentence in a paragraph, it would be really jarring to have both the background color and text color switch for highlighting.

Editing to add that I meant to post reply 2 as a reply to you, not my OP. Sorry. Not getting enough sleep.
