I don't think there's anything we can do at our end to break the way the popup looks when it's displayed.

If you check that box it might disable all popups on DU, which might then prevent you from being able to do anything on DU that requires a confirmation, like mark a forum or log out. If you find that's the case, I believe you can reset the notification by clicking the padlock icon just to the left of your browser's address bar.

FWIW I don't have a firm opinion on whether we should require a confirmation to mark -- if people consider it to be an annoying extra step, we can get rid of it.
