Life in prison without the possibility of parole for the shooter. Investigate the shooter's associates and be sure that any conspiracies are detected, stopped, and the participants jailed.

I know people are characterizing this act as "understandable" given how health insurance companies treat their patients

This isn't time for "I don't agree with murder, but I understand it in this case". That's bullshit.

This is a violent murder of an innocent, defenseless human being. Someone's son, father and husband. No amount of insurance company greed and malfeasance can be seen as justifying or explaining this.

It's wrong on all levels. Period.
