Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan and even Korea. So, all enemies know they should stay until we quit. This is especially true of ideological differences rather than political ones.

You can't bomb people into changing their beliefs.

When both sides have that issue, you have forever wars like with Israel and its neighbors.
