A Republican administration causes havoc, the people get frustrated and elect a Democrat the next time around. But the people forget since time has gone by and elect yet another Republican and the cycle continues. They need to start teaching Civics again in our public schools - after we finally elect another Democrat, restore the Dept. of Education (thanks to President Carter) and remove the 10 Commandments from the walls. But the clean up job has never been so insurmountable, and I'm guessing that this time it'll take more than a couple of generations to restore our Democratic Republic to rights as our Founders intended. 
And I also like The Bob Newhart Show and I've started watching Adam-12 as well (my brother's favorite show) since, with rare exceptions, they nab the criminals. Those are the shows available in my area overnight, but I do prefer the comedies...
