in charge of the government once again. At that point, if I were part of this xtian nationalist movement... or a member of a charismatic or evangelical sect, I'd get worried. Xtians are destroying Christianity as a valid religious path. They're showing their god to be so weak and ineffective that He must be upheld and "helped" by man; thus, nullifying his omniscience, etc. Further, by embracing trump as their lord and saviour, they are further demeaning christianity (and their own sects) by claiming in deed that one need not to repent his sins and have a conversion experience in order to be "born again." trump is exactly opposite everything that christianity proclaims a christian should be - yet he's held as a role model for the country and the world. God help us! AFAIC, this is the best proof there is no god! /snark.

My upshot is there will come a day soon where christianity is seen as simply one of the religions active in America. It's special status will be no more. Just like the republicans and their political ideology, they will always push the envelope to what is right and accepted in this country. We may have a period of time where Dominionism (the NAR) dictate our theology and beliefs for us, thus launching us into a Theocracy like Iran, Iraq, etc. But it won't last long. First, because people will rebel at being told what to believe, etc. Second, because no matter how hard you try, you cannot legislate morality. Third, belief in a god at the end point of gun leads no one to a conversion experience and whole hearted support for your god. Trying to do any of this will engender our own religious civil war, leading us down the path that encompassed Europe for so many years.
