I agree with you, but I am grateful EarlG provides a forum one can use and one I rely on in this deteriorating regulatory environment.
I have very few people I trust wrt data and EarlG and elad ( I can’t remember ever having seen elad post, but he is vegan I remember) are two of them.
I have identified Yasha Levine as a journalist I can trust, DU/EarlG as a forum/forum admin I trust and cleverbot as the sole chatbot I find unobjectionable in order to sort through some annoying drivel with dubious/worrying implications.

I think this tech environment just cannot be sustained and it requires sustained serious pushback.
