It would appear that Bezos couldn't care less about Jamal Khashoggi or anything except what Trump might do to his government contracts re: Blue Origin.

-- for America if not for him personally -- why not endorse HIM? Because he now KNOWS that Trump ISN'T going to win, and doesn't want guilt by association.

Bad luck seems to follow those who annoy autocrats like Mohammed bin Salman, or Putin, or the dictator Trump says he intends to become. Bezos may have felt it's best not to annoy a prospective dictator.

Otherwise they would clearly understand appeasement never works with dictators (and dictator wannabes).

They have shown the world they are weak and cowardly, not worthy of anyone’s respect.

And they have demonstrated why not everything should be for profit.

Every time they let Saudi Arabia have more of anything. Every time the prince’s name is mentioned or I see him with Jared. I know they would sell every American down the hole to get a few more dollars. I mean all of these oligarchs, to them we are prey, nothing more. Jared was just a bit more open about it.

Even the NYT. No one under 60 cares. No one cares about the endorsements, the editorials, the political cartoons -- none of it.

The NYT survives because of the crossword and Wordle.

I subscribe to the Post to read advice columnist Carolyn Hax. There's no drama like family drama.

I think all of the surviving newspapers will be gone in 10 more years or absorbed by players like CNN or FAUX - or by billionaires (like Bezos) or non US nation-state actors.
