By Brendan Cole
The U.S. is withdrawing from an international group investigating those responsible for Russia's invasion of Ukraine, including President Vladimir Putin, it has been reported.
The Justice Department has informed European officials about plans to withdraw from the International Center for the Prosecution of the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine, according to The New York Times, which cited people familiar with the situation.
The decision is expected to be announced on Monday in an email to the staff and membership of the group's parent organization, the European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation (Eurojust).
Newsweek has contacted the Justice Department and Eurojust for comment.

History will not be kind to this pack of fascists.

(35,621 posts)2. The US is completely null and void in any decision making regarding Ukraine anyway. The UK and EU are stepping
Up and are going to make sure that Ukraine wins and putin the loser, well he can go back to russia and face his ppl.

(4,657 posts)3. The headline is a bit
misleading. The task force is investigating not only Russian aggression but war crimes. With the ICC having warrants out for many Russians involved in war crimes perpetrated against Ukrainians, including Putin, this takes some pressure off the Kremlin criminals.
