AP Sources: Kamala Harris will appear on SNL in last episode before presidential election

Source: AP

Updated 7:55 PM EDT, November 2, 2024

NEW YORK (AP) — Vice President Kamala Harris has made an unannounced trip to New York to appear on an episode of “Saturday Night Live,” briefly stepping away from the battleground states she’s been campaigning in with just three days to go before the election.

Harris departed on Air Force Two after a campaign stop on Saturday in Charlotte, North Carolina. She was scheduled to head to Detroit. But once the aircraft was in the air, aides said it was actually heading to New York.

Her appearance on the show was confirmed by three people familiar with Harris’ plans who were not authorized to speak publicly about them.

It is the final SNL episode before Election Day on Tuesday.

It's so much about the persuadable/undecided/who ever the hell those people are. Trump has been blowing it in these last few weeks. Harris has been serious and trying to appeal to everyone, and I think having success. I don't understand what this gains? Of course her campaign knows a lot more than me...

it's the retweets and the going viral of it that might just sway younger voters into showing up on Tuesday, if they're already registered or can same day register and vote.

It makes sense that getting people to show up is more important than trying to convince anyone of who to vote for at this point. Maybe SNL will help with the motivation, if not the decision.
