Words found on shell casings where UnitedHealthcare CEO was shot dead, senior law enforcement official says

Shell casings found at the scene where the UnitedHealthcare CEO was shot dead by a masked gunman in front of a busy New York City hotel had the words “deny,” “defend” and “depose” written on them, a senior New York City law enforcement official briefed on the investigation confirmed to NBC News on Thursday.

Brian Thompson, 50, was killed in a “premeditated, preplanned targeted attack” outside the New York Hilton Midtown on Sixth Avenue in the heart of Manhattan, police said.

He was on his way to speak at UnitedHealth Group's investor conference when the gunman who had been lying in wait for several minutes approached from behind and fired at least once into his back and at least once in the right calf, Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch told a news conference Wednesday.

Police say they don't yet know the motive of the gunman, who they say is still at large.

Fingerprints on the bullets will be important, if he’s in the system.

That these words were found at the scene --- I believe someone was trying to send a message.

I hope the message is received at many corporate offices.

I am actually surprised this has not happened more. I do not condone violence, but unfortunately some, who may be pushed to far do to healthcare insurance cuts, if Medicare and SS goes on the block, horrendous tax hikes for middle class, rich people getting away with crime and other issues could very easily see more of this.

The right…essentially big money is murdering young women over failed pregnancies, marginalized groups are being shut out of even the most basic of needs, ppl are losing everything and yet they are silent when we suffer and die for no good reason.

A dead rich dude….nothing more, nothing less

On edit: I do have one strong emotion…I wish the f..k it could have been “him!”

Their only reaction will be to increase personal security.

Changing the way they do business will not cross their minds.
