(51,308 posts)28. I think even more importantly is to teach children that VIOLENCE solves NOTHING.
For some reason, this concept of being "dissed" seems to have gained enormous traction in this country, and it apparently excuses any response a person might give - no matter how violent the response is.
I see it even here - on a thread the other day one response read,"If someone said that to me, I'd be in prison" and then everyone agreed how a violent response is justified.

We had cap guns, my grandfather was very strict that we should never point them at each other

I do think there is something to be said about educating the kids on proper use of guns.
