(1,449 posts)I have had to check in so many things but have not checked on healthcare as such. I researched it may take a few minutes to get a GP. I know when I have gone back to visit I have received free, or almost free, healthcare not even living there. At one point my foot went through a glass window. They took out the glass and cleaned my foot. I walked away paying $15 for crutches I was allowed to keep. I also went back to my old GP and was treated for something. That also was free. I have not heard of them charging. And I do have paperwork stating despite me having duel citizenship, I was sworn in as a Canadian citizen. But I cannot imagine them letting someone lose their house or life savings over a heart attack or stroke or most anything else.
When you have health problems, the last thing you want to do is worry about money. Money has hung o er our head since hubby was diagnosed. Thankfully, he has insurance but they can decide it is too expensive and stop paying.
Thank you for your kind words. I really just want to be in a place that seems to treat their citizens humanely.
