(5,208 posts)Who had the land before Israel was created before May 1948? Did people not on that land on the time come in, draw new boundries, displace the people that were there? Sounds a lot like colonization? Was England a part of doing all this? Because, yeah, sure, England wasn't a huge colonizer. What was I thinking? Has Israel continued to displace Palestinians from their land to increase the amount of land Israel controlled? Sound familiar? Kind of how the US colonized America and kept pushing out the indigenous when they needed more land?
Come on. I get why Israel needed to be created. But if we can't all realize that it was colonization and people were pushed off their land and didn't just give it up freely, then what are we even doing? And if we are going to ignore the fact that Israel continues to take the land a bit a time, then let's just go down that revisionist highway, I guess.
